Xxx poem
According to Coleridge's preface to Kubla Khan , the poem was composed one night after he experienced an opium -influenced dream after reading a work describing Xanadu , the summer palace of the Mongol ruler and Emperor of China Kublai Khan. Upon waking, he set about writing lines of poetry that came to him from the dream until he was interrupted by " a person from Porlock ". The poem could not be completed according to its original — line plan as the interruption caused him to forget the lines. He left it unpublished and kept it for private readings for his friends until when, at the prompting of Lord Byron , it was published.

Sex Poems - Modern Award-winning Sex Poetry : All Poetry
When to the sessions of sweet silent thought I summon up remembrance of things past, I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought, And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste: Then can I drown an eye, unused to flow, For precious friends hid in death's dateless night, And weep afresh love's long since cancelled woe, And moan the expense of many a vanished sight: Then can I grieve at grievances foregone, And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan, Which I new pay as if not paid before. This is one of the most pensive and gentle of the sonnets. It links in closely with the previous one, both in thought and layout. The discontent with life which was expressed there still remains in this one, as the poet surveys his past life and all the sorrows it has brought him. The language is quasi-legal, possibly based on that appropriate to a manorial court investigating discrepancies in its accounts.
